Chlorine is widely used to maintain both chemical and bacteriological purity in spas. Free chlorine is essential for killing bacteria and oxidising organic matter from bathers. When water is balanced, chlorine levels of 3.0–5.0 mg/L are sufficient to keep your spa clean and healthy. Properly managed chlorine-treated spas will have minimal odour and combined chlorine (chloramines) levels under 0.5 mg/L.

Combined chlorine forms when free chlorine reacts with organic matter, producing compounds such as Monochloramine, Dichloramine, and Nitrogen Trichloride—the last of which can cause the familiar “chlorine” smell if water treatment is inadequate.

These traditional granular chlorine granules are popular with spa owners due to their flexible dosing. They dissolve quickly, making pre-dissolving and application easy. With a pH of approximately 6.0–7.0, they have minimal impact on your spa’s water balance.
